Hazy Shade of Litter
lyrics by D. Lentil
to the music of
"Hazy Shade of Winter" by Paul Simon.

Doing Time Time Time,
rubbish all around me
as I look around at the gum on the street

that gum is so hard to clean

sit aground
look around
avoid the foreman Mr. Winters

here's a colt 45 can
a big mac's suicide
thrown here by a big fat guy
thought he was a big man

please carry your cup in your hand
and look around
see the brown
city supplied trash can on the corner

hang on to your trash my friend,
that's an easy thing to say
but if your car should pass this way
just keep your garbage off the highway
and look around
piled high
smelling ripe
probation is ruining my life

rats run all around merrily
eating pizza that's scarily
smeared with cat hair and Genessee

at this inconvenient time
foreman calls me to the front of the line
asks me to scrub away
unidentifiable grime

Hide near an Adoption sign
I look around
leaves are brown
and the sky is a hazy shade of litter

I wrote these lyrics doing community service, cleaning up near the highway at the 3rd street exit. It made me wonder about all our mother earth has given us. Now I think twice about throwing my Peanut Buster Parfait cup out the window of the van. (It goes to the tune of "Hazy Shade of Winter.")

Conspicous Triangle In Your Ear
by Jerry McCarthy

Just the other day I saw you walking down the street
candy apple red patent leather high tops on your feet
you had bright blue glittery hair that spiked out to here
the sun bounced off the conspicous triangle in your ear

Ref:
Pretty girl with the pretty earring Ohhh - Ohhh
would you wear my class of '86 ring Ohh-ohhh
Oh no no - it's not what you think
Triangles mean something when they're pink

I pulled my Dodge Aries K into the Wendy's lot
I had ten dollars and a small frosty I had just bought
I asked if you'd like to share Value Meal number 3
You looked like Mary Stuart Masterson to me

(Synthesizer solo - Demo Mode + Rumba Beat)

Pretty girl with the pretty earring Ohhh - Ohhh
would you wear my class of '86 ring Ohh-ohhh
Oh no no no - it's not what you think
Triangles mean something when they're pink

Your fingerless glove brushed my shoulder and I almost cried
I suddenly realized that there were hairy knuckles inside
As I pulled away I could hear you call me "honey,"
the frosty spilled in my lap and ruined my money

Pretty girl with the pretty earring Ohhh - Ohhh
would you wear my class of '86 ring Ohh-ohhh
Oh no no no - it's not what you think
Triangles mean something when they're pink

This is an entirely fictional song about what might happen to a guy who was pretty smart, but just not paying attention.
