Detailed Itinerary :
Day 01 : Delhi
Arrival at Delhi
You will be met on arrival at the International airport. Transfer to yourhotel. Relax.
DELHI, the capital of kingdoms and empires is now a sprawlingmetropolis with a fascinating blend of the past and the present. Delhiis a perfect introduction to the composite culture of an ancient landand a window to the kaleidoscope - that is India.
Overnight will be at Delhi.
Day 02 : Delhi
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast proceed for a day sightseeing tourof the city.
Start with the sightseeing of
Old Delhi. Thetour will begin with a visit to
Raj Ghat, a simple memorial to MahatmaGandhi; drive past the
Red Fort continuing to the
Jama Masjid by
bicyclerickshaws,one of Asia’s largest mosques. The magnificent Red Fort, overlookingthe river Jamuna was built during the years 1638 - 48 when the MoghulEmpire was at its peak. The tour continues to Jama Masjid, one ofAsia’s largest mosques and which is viewed from the outside.
People stream in and out of the mosque continuouslyand the presence of a nearby bazaar means that the area is rarely quiet.
Enjoy the rickshaw ride at Old Delhi.
After visiting Old Delhi, you will be driven to
NewDelhi, whichreflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between Newand Old Delhi is the division between the capitals of the British andthe Mughals respectively. The division in the walled city and New Delhialso marks the division in the life-styles. The walled city is alltradition where one will be able to glean a past life-style in all itsfacets, colours and spells. New Delhi in contrast, is a city trying tolive up to the best of 21st century standards.
Imperial Delhi will include the
Qutub Minar,the tallest stone tower in India. The tour also includes a drive past theimposing
India Gate, the
Parliament building and the

Day 03 : Delhi – Varanasi

Breakfast will be at the hotel. Proceed to theairport for flight to Varanasi.
Varanasi is the World's most ancient living city.Crowded with temples, and its labyrinth of streets, the city attractsthe maximum number of tourists. The religious capital of Hinduism,Varanasi is the carpet-manufacturing place of India. It was
previouslyknown as Kashi - the city that illuminates. The present name is derivedfrom the fact that the city is at the confluence of the rivers Varunaand ASI. It is also called
CITY OF TEMPLES.
Visit
Sarnath ‑ 5 miles out of Varanasi for aday excursion: One of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world, whereBuddha preached his first Sermon in 590 BC.
Here he revealed the eightfold path that leads to the attainment of inner peace, Enlightenment andUltimate Nirvana. Witnessthe ruins of a once flourishing Buddhist monastery and then visit afine Museum which houses an excellent collection of Buddhist art andsculptures found at the site.
In the evening you canvisit the GHATS for the evening ceremony and the cremations. Overnight stay will be at Varanasi.
Day 04 : Varanasi
Morning drive to Daswamedh Ghat and take a boat ride on the sacredriver Ganges to see the cremation Ghats and witness the livingtraditions of one of the world's oldest and most important religions.(To start at 0500 hrs. for the best lifetime experience) For you toappreciate this remarkable city, we’ll transfer you to the banks of theRiver Ganges before the sun rises. Board a boat with your guide andproceed to the middle of the river, where at sunrise the sight unfoldsbefore you. Thousands of faithful come daily to the banks to bathe andpray while in the background, temples and palaces rise in tiers fromthe water’s edge. Then return for a walk through the cobblestonestreets along the banks of "Ganga". As shops are opening, the place nowbecomes a beehive of activity as the faithful are coming and going.Visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple while returning to the hotel.
Breakfast will be at the hotel. Proceed for dayguided tour of Varanasi.
Visit Bharat Mata Temple, which features a big relief map of MotherIndia engraved in marble. Also visit the 18th century Durga Temple,commonly known as the Monkey Temple due to the huge population of themonkeys. Proceed to the Tulsi manas Temple, crafted from white marblewhich features the entire Ramayana inscribed on its walls. Also visitthe BHU considered as the biggest residential university in Asia. TheUniversity Campus houses an Art Gallery and the Mosque of MughalEmperor Aurangzeb.

Day 05 : Varanasi – Khajuraho

Breakfast will be at hotel.
Take an afternoon flight to Khajuraho.
Situated in the northernmost part of Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho isfamous for its enchanting temples and its legendary Khajuraho dancefestival. The name Khajuraho is derived from the Khajur tree (the datepalm tree) which is grown abundantly in the region. The KhajurahoTemples are dedicated to a celebration of womanhood, her myriad moodsand facets. Famous for its erotic architecture, the carvings include,women writing a letter, applying eye makeup, combing her tresses,dancing & playing with her child. Her innocent, blushed, charming,seductive, ardent beauty, all depicted in exquisitely sculptureddetails. These temples have been designed and carved to lead the eyesfrom ground level upward till you seem to be looking at heaven.
Reach and after lunchvisit the EASTERN SET OF TEMPLES in the afternoon.

Day 06 : Khajuraho – Jhansi

It is a medieval city founded by the BUNDELA rulers with palaces andtemples of the 16th & 17th century – which has remarkably withstoodthe onslaught of time. The town is known for its CHATTRIS which werebuilt in the memory of the kings and the place is flanked by the riverBETWA.

AGRA: Two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and Shah Jahan,transformed the little village of Agra into a befitting second capitalof the Mughal Empire – giving it the name Dar-ul-Khilafat {seat of theEmperor}. Today a visitor to Agra is caught up in a world ofcontrasting edifices, of red sandstone and white marble, narrow galleysand quaint buggies, and that irresistible charm that this favorite cityof the Mughals still retains. It is not surprising, that modern Agrastill reflects its Mughal heritage most conspicuously. AGRA FORT - Built by the famed Mughal emperor Akbar in 1565 AD, the fort ispredominantly of red sandstone. Ensconced within is the pictureperfect Pearl Mosque, which is a major tourist attraction. It lies onthe bend of the river Yamuna, almost in the heart of the town. Akbarbuilt it as his citadel over the years 1563-73 in the finestarchitectural style. It has imposing gates and walls of red sandstoneand a moat.
After Agra Fort we will visit
BABY TAJ – The interiors of which are considered better than theTaj.

Day 08 : Agra –Jaipur

The deserted, red Sandstone City, Emperor Akbar built that as hiscapital
and palace in the late 16th century is an exhilaratingexperience. It a veritable
fairytale city and its "ruins" are inpristine condition

in the days of its grandeur. Also visit the BulundDarwaza, the largest gateway
in the world.
Continue drive to Jaipur.

JAIPUR - The origins of the beautiful city of Jaipurcan
be traced back to the eighteenth century, during the reign of JaiSingh II
who ascended the Amber throne in 1699. Jaipur today,epitomizes the spirit
of Rajputana. In-spite of growing into abustling metropolis, it still
retains its character and history - Abeautiful fusion of the yesteryears
and modernity. Jaipur is popularlyknown as the Pink City because of the
extensive use of the locallyabundant pink plastered stone, painted so in
honor of the visit of theroyal consort of Queen Victoria. Jaipur thrills
the soul with itsmassive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples and
lush gardens.
This evening, visit the Birla Temple to learn more about thefascinating
religious life of Jaipur. The marble structure, built asrecently as 1985,
houses ornate statues including one of Lakshmi(goddess of Wealth and Beauty)
and Narayan dressed in gaudy robes,representing a Hindu vision of heavenly
luxury. Carvings in the templeand on pillars supporting the covered walkways
include images of theHindu pantheon, as well as Jesus, the Blessed Virgin
Mary and StFrancis of Assisi. Your visit will coincide with the AARTI Ceremony,which
involves oil lamps being lit and waved, in order to awake andinvoke the

Day 09 : Jaipur
Proceed for a morning excursion to Amber Fort afterbreakfast. Elephant ride
ascent to the fort.
AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romanticRajasthani
fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in1592, and
completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbiddingexterior belies
an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughaland Hindu styles finds
its ultimate expression.

CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal andtraditional
Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls overone-seventh of the
area in the walled city. It houses the ChandraMahal, Shri Govind Dev
Temple and the City Palace Museum.
JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the bestpreserved
of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in differentparts of the
country. This observatory consisting of outsizedastronomical instruments
is still in use.
HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace
ofWinds" is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. It is a five-storeystructure
of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trellisworkand elaborate
balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Builtin 1799 by Pratap
Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for thepalace women.

Day 10 : Jaipur – Mandawa

Drive to Mandawa afterbreakfast.
Stop at Samode – one of the royalvillages in rajasthan.
Proceed for sightseeing of SAMODE.
Samode according to the Rajputana Gazetteer of 1879 was a large andflourishing
town. The Zamidars (landlords) of Samode - the principalthakurs of the state
of Amber were the Nathawat clan from Chomu, abranch of the house of Amber,
tracing their relation to the JaipurMaharaja the fabled Prithviraj Singhji
the 17th prince of the house ofKacchwaha Rajputs. Gopal Singhji one of his
12 sons was awarded Samode,a noble feudatory of the Amber & Jaipur principality.
It was amongthe wealthiest territories in the Amber kingdom. The Zamidarieventually
passed within the clan to the hands of Behari Das, a Rajputwarrior in Mughal
Service. After 6 generations in the hands of hisdescendants Samode was relinquished
to the Raj.
The 400-year-old
SAMODE PALACE has a wealth of frescoes,
many of them depictingreligious subjects. The highlight is a vast DURBAR
HALL.
Take a walk of the Rajasthani village ortake a camel cart ride.
Continue drive to Mandawa.
The medieval Fort of Mandawa gradually rises on the horizon like amirage.
A breathtaking view of the town can be seen from the terrace ofCastle Mandawa.
Precious collection of arms with jade handles,traditional ceremonial costumes
can be seen at the Museum at theCastle. The havelies worth a visit are Chokhani,
Saraf, Goenka andLadia in this town. This was built in 1775 by Thakur Nawal
Singh,descendant of Rao Shekhaji, who also founded the city of Nawalgarh. The
Castle, now a 51 room hotel has no two rooms alike. It also housesan interesting
collection of paintings, jade, costumes and antiques.The courtyard and the
terrace come to live during evenings withcandle-lit dinners and fire-dances
during the season. This is a twohundred and forty year old fortress that
has been converted by thefamily into a fine example of traditional hospitality.

Day 11: Mandawa – Bikaner

Take a walking tour of the painted 'havelis' of some of the leadingbusiness
families of the country. Though they no longer live here, thelocal caretakers
are happy to show the visitors around. ChowkhaniHaveli, Gulab Rai Ladia
Haveli, Lakshminarayan Ladia Haveli, MohahanlalSaraf Haveli and Bhagchandika
Haveli are of special interest. Spend themajor part of the day looking into
frescoes.
Drive to Bikaner.
Reach Bikaner and check in at hotel.
The royal fortified city with a timeless appeal. Lying in the north ofthe
Desert State, the city is dotted with many sand dunes. Bikanerretains the
medieval splendor that pervades the city's lifestyle. Morepopularly called
the camel country, the city is renowned for the bestriding camels in the
world. The ship of the desert is an inseparablepart of life here. Be it
pulling heavy carts, transporting grains orworking on wells, camels are
the prime helpers.

Rao Bikaji, a descendant of Jodhaji - the founder of Jodhpur, foundedthis
desert town in the North of the state in 1488. Visit the JunagarhFort, constructed
between 1588 and 1593 by Raja Jai Singh, a general inthe Moghul Emperor
Akbar's army. Visit the Old City and the Karni MataTemple. Also visit the
one of the wells of Bikaner - an importantsource of water are other attractions
of the city. These are built onhigh plinths with slender minareted towers
on each of the Four Cornersand can be noticed even from a distance.

Day 12 : Bikaner – Jaisalmer

Drive to Jaisalmer after a relaxing breakfast.
Rising from the heart of the Thar Desert like a golden mirage is thecity
of Jaisalmer. A commanding fort etched in yellow sandstone stands,with its
awesome splendor, dominating the amber-hued city.
Thecity has an interesting legend associated with it, according to which,Lord
Krishna-the head of the Yadav Clan, foretold Arjuna that a remotedescendent
of the Yadav Clan would build his kingdom atop the TrikutaHill. His prophecy
was fulfilled in 1156 AD when Rawal Jaisal, adescendent of the Yadav Clan
and a Bhatti Rajput, abandoned his fort atLodurva and founded a new capital
-Jaisalmer, perched on the TrikutaHill.

Day 13 : Jaisalmer
After a relaxed breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of TheGolden
City - Jaisalmer. It is in the heart of the Great IndianDesert. Its

Day 14 : Jaisalmer – Jodhpur

Osiyan was a religious and trading center between the 8th and 12thcenturies.
Sixteen Hindu and Jain temples dating from this period arelocated here.

for Jains because it is associated with the originof the Oswal Jain community
of merchants who became very wealthythrough trade. This wealth enabled them
to build the beautiful temples.Built from local sandstone, the buildings

of the Marwar state, it was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha –chief

Also visit the lovely
Sahelion-ki-Bari Gardens, the Jagdish Temple
and the local folk Museum.
Proceed for Evening Motor launch cruise on the placid waters of LakePichola.
From the boat you will be able to view the city of Udaipur asit rises majestically
above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthandesert. Also visit the
Jag Mandir - the other island palace in themiddle of the lake and spend

took its name from the local Goddess "Mumba" - a form ofParvati,

once stood in what is now the southeastern section of theMumbai city.

Chowpatty Beach: Chowpatty beach situated at the endof

young boys into the Brahmin caste, 'Nariel Purnima'towards the end of the

Mumbai Fort: The area north of Colaba is known asMumbai
Fort, since the old British fort was once located here. Thereare a lot of
impressive buildings from Mumbai's golden period here. St.John's church,
dedicated to the soldiers, who laid down their lives inthe Sindh campaign
of 1838, and the first Afghan war of 1843, is alsoworth a visit.
Marine Drive in Mumbai: Marine Drive located in thecentral
Mumbai, built in the 1920s and 30s on land reclaimed from thesea, is Mumbai's
most famous thoroughfare. It is also referred to asthe Queen's Necklace
because of the dramatic line of street lamps litup at night. Recently it
has come to known as Netaji SubhashchandraBose Road with Nariman Point on
one end to Babulnath, at the foot ofWalkeshwar on the other.
Gateway of India: Mumbai's principal landmark, theGateway
of India is a huge archway on the water's edge at ApolloBunder. It is the
starting point for most tourists who want to explorethe city. This famous
monument was

built to commemorate the visit ofthe first ever British Monarch, King George
V and Queen Mary in 1911.
Flora Fountain/ HutamaChowk: This fountain situatedin the
heart of the city was erected in 1869 in honour of a BritishGovernor of
Bombay. Sir Brtle Frere. Flora Fountain marks a junction offive streets
and known as the 'Picadilly Circus 'of Mumbai, which isdecorated at its
four corners with mythological figures, the Fountainis a structure in dull
stone with a figurethe Roman Goddess of flowers,at the top.
Hanging Gardens inMumbai: Also known as PherozeshahMehta
Gardens, the Hanging Gardens were built in 1880 and renovated in1921. These
gardens are popularly known as Hanging Gardens, because oftheir location
on the slope of a hill. The terrace garden looks southfrom Malabar Hill
towards Colaba, and affords a panoramic view of thecity or a breathtaking
sunset. It is built over three reservoirs, whichstore 30 million gallons
of water pumped here for cleaning before beingsupplied to the town.
VictoriaTerminus/Western Railway Station: At thesite of
the Koli's original temple to Mumba Devi now stands ChatrapatiShivaji Terminus
- one of Mumbai's most prominent buildings andarchitecturally one of the
finest stations in the world. It is built ina style that combines Gothic

the building commenced in 1878. ThisItalian gothic Building has a frontage
of over 15,00 feet. Theadministrative offices form three sides of a rectangle
enclosing anornamental garden, the entrance gate guarded by a massive stone
Lionand Tiger. The most prominent feature of this building is the high 160feet
dome crowning the centre. On top of the giant dome is a figure ofa women
with a torch held aloft to symbolise progress.

Gothic style, situated next to the Oval Ground is well worth avisit for
its impressive architecture. Statues representing Justice andMercy surmount
the Central structure.
Rajabai Clock tower: Rajabai Clock tower, situated atthe
gardens of the Bombay University building rises above the portionof the
library section. Consisting of five elaborately decoratedstoreys the tower
is 280ft.in height. The top of the cupola isornamented with sixteen statues
depicting various Indian castes.
